God’s will, will always succeed

Article for July 12, 2026 Isaiah 55:10–11 10“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 11so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. For the easy and the hard, the rain and the snow, the word of God and th

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden

Article for July 5, 2026 Matthew 11:25–26 25At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; 26yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. Seems like Jesus has a problem with the wise people of the Israelites. Or is Jesus being facetious. Those who were thought of as wise among the Israelites were the Pharisees, the Sadducees, and the Scribes

We are chained to our sinful nature

Article for June 28, 2026 Romans 7:21–23 21So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. 22For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, 23but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. If it feels good, then do it. Sounds like a good statement, however most forget to interpret what is a good feeling. You see there are many things

“Made righteous in the works of the Holy Spirit”

Article for June 21, 2026 Romans 6:12–13 12Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal bodies, to make you obey their passions. 13Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. The keynote is this, we should present ourselves as though we are going to be brought back from death into life eternal. Think about this!

Can you admit to your sin?

Article for June14, 2026 Matthew 9:35–36 35Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. 36When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Jesus said that the time has come, repent, and believe in the gospel. What this means is that in order to believe in the gospel we must firs

God is Waiting for His People

Article for June 7, 2026 Hosea 5:15 15I will return again to my place, until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face, and in their distress earnestly seek me. This is the time towards the beginning of the Assyrian captivity. Hosea being the prophet to God’s people Israel. And at the same time of Hosea, Isaiah and Micah are prophets to God’s people Judah. The message from God through Hosea is quite simple. God is going back to His heavenly realm awaiting Israel to ad

Holy Trinity Sunday

Article for May 31, 2026 Matthew 28:16 16Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. Matthew tells us that two Marys had gone to the grave of Jesus. Jesus spoke to both Marys as they were on their way to tell the apostles what they had seen. Jesus was telling them to tell His disciples to go to Galilee. (Matthew 28:10). We assume that the eleven disciples in this case are the remaining eleven apostles as Judas had committed

Jesus is the Living Water

Article for May 24, 2026, Pentecost John 7:37–38 37On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. 38Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” Jesus is making a pronouncement at the end of an important seven day feast, the celebration of the Tabernacle. In this commemoration of the Tabernacle all of the Jews move out of their abodes and

“The Father was glorified by the Son”

Article for May 17, 2026 John 17:1–3 1When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, 2since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. 3And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. That this, “The High Priestly Prayer,” was given by Jesus before His crucifixion

Store your Treasure in Heaven

Article for May 10, 2026 1 Peter 3:13–14 13Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? 14But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, Is it possible to overcome the fear of the world and change to fearing our Lord? The world has a means to threaten our livelihood, and even our lives. But can the world take our faith away? If we stop fearing the world and instead put our fear in God,

“We are God’s People and have received His Mercy”

Article for May 3, 2026 John 14:12–14 12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. 13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.” Believe in Jesus Christ and believe in the Father who sent to us our Savior. Do not misunderstand these words for some think God

Jesus took the Punishment for our Sins

Article for April 26, 2026 John 10:7b–10 7b “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” No one goes to heaven without going through Jesus Christ who is the way, the t

Jesus died for all sin, past, present, and future

Article for April 19, 2026 1 Peter 1:17–19 17 If you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one’s deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile, 18 knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. We call upon our Father in heaven each time we pray. Our pr

“Obey God rather than men”

Article for Sunday April 12, 2026 Acts 5:29-32 29 But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men. 30 The God of our fathers raised Jesus, whom you killed by hanging him on a tree. 31 God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. 32 And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.” The High Priest had just accused the Apostles of pr

He has Risen, He has risen, He is risen!

Article for April 5, 2026 Easter John 20:1–2 1 Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. 2 So she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.” A political plot of the Pharisees or a plot of the Apostles; the body of Jesus is

Good Friday

Article for Good Friday April 3, 2026 John 12:23b–24 23b “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. 24 Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. Jesus seems to ignore a question asked by Philip who asks what we should do with these Greeks and foreigners. Instead, Jesus goes into a discourse of lament over not His life but our life. Jesus knows it is a time that will

Maundy Thursday

Article for April 2, 2026 Maundy Thursday Matthew 26:23–25 23 He answered, “He who has dipped his hand in the dish with me will betray me. 24 The Son of Man goes as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.” 25 Judas, who would betray him, answered, “Is it I, Rabbi?” He said to him, “You have said so.” A shocking statement was presented to the Apostles while they were eating t

Palm Sunday Parade

Article for March 29, 2026 Palm Sunday Luke 19:29–31 29 When he [Jesus] drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount that is called Olivet, he sent two of the disciples, 30 saying, “Go into the village in front of you, where on entering you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever yet sat. Untie it and bring it here. 31 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ you shall say this: ‘The Lord has need of it.’” Passover, maybe we should embrace it more and celebr

Moses on Mount Sinai- 10 commandments

Article for Wednesday March 25, 2026 Exodus 34:1–3 1 The Lord said to Moses, “Cut for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke. 2 Be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself there to me on the top of the mountain. 3 No one shall come up with you, and let no one be seen throughout all the mountain. Let no flocks or herds graze opposite

God has power over life and death

Article for Sunday March 22, 2026 John 11:3–4 3 So the sisters sent to him, saying, “Lord, he whom you love is ill.” 4 But when Jesus heard it he said, “This illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” This could be a long article but not so much in the sermon. Lazarus, a close friend of Jesus was ill and eventually dies. Jesus hears from Martha and Mary who sent a messenger to tell Jesus that His friend
