God’s will, will always succeed

Isaiah 55:10–11 10“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 11so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
For the easy and the hard, the rain and the snow, the word of God and the lessons to learn are to be learned as they give us the meaning of life. Both easy and hard lessons bring forth wisdom and knowledge. Sometimes we skip over what is easy and run from what is hard and fail to learn the lessons. Like scolded children we rebel and find ways to ignore the good of the easy and the good of the hard lesson. Though learning lessons may mature some, others refuse because it becomes about the infringement of their desires instead of the pureness of what is living in the spirit.
No matter how hard we try we cannot overcome the will of God. So, the answer to this opportunity is to surrender to God’s will and forgo the desires of self-satisfaction, whatever that might be. That is put God first and others before you put yourself first.
God’s will, will always succeed and we should be used to this by now, but we are not because we do not learn from the past. What goes around comes around and what comes around goes around and around and around, because we are too tied up in ourselves to learn even the hard lessons. Get it! God will succeed!
Isaiah 55:12–13 12“For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. 13Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress; instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle; and it shall make a name for the Lord, an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”
Look at the difference between following and not following God’s will. God promised Adam that their will, will be the curse of weeds, thistles and thorns for the sins of mankind, that is all of Adam’s offspring. How ever if we surrender to God’s will He will get us through those weeds, thistles, and thorns. Notice I did not say that there will be no weeds, thistles, or thorns.
God’s will, will smooth things out and what was in the way is replaced with the beauty of calm, assurance, and faith in His will. The joy we feel is not that we did not have trials and tribulations, but that we realize God got us through those trials and tribulations. This is not a life of the flesh but a life of the spirit. This is what makes a name for our Lord, that we realize He got us through our trials and tribulations. God has gotten us through all of life’s weeds, thistles, and thorns. God gives us the easy and the hard lessons to mature us into faithful children of our Father in heaven. Praise and thank you Lord God!
Romans 8:12–13 12So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
So, we learn the easy and the hard lessons which the Holy Spirit uses to lead us to repentance. Though we will sin we work towards not sinning. Though we sin we learn to repent. Though we repent we know we are forgiven. Though we are forgiven we grow in faith. And though we grow in faith we mature in our love for God our Father in heaven. And though we grow in our love for God the Father we grow in our faithful following of our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is that we follow the one who died for our sins not to earn His love but to realize the love He has for us. What Jesus did for us He did out of a greater love. This greater love should be the easy lesson, but many make this lesson much harder to learn because we do not realize the love Jesus has for us. And many have warped the meaning of love to say Jesus should walk behind us and cleanup our mess and protect us from our mess. Do you realize that actually that is what Jesus has done for us? It just doesn’t look like our greedy wants and desires perceived it.
Romans 8:14–15 14For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
Our world today thinks freedom is to do whatever you want and not have any consequence to follow. We mistake imprisonment of our sinful ways as freedom, rather than realizing true freedom comes in true and right worship of God following His ways. Freedom comes to those who know and live the gospel of Jesus which tells us to repent, forgive, and know of your own forgiveness from our Lord.
We were adopted to be the children of God out of the love of God. Not that we earned our adoption, but that we were adopted through the will of God which is Jesus Christ. Our salvation is life in the spirit moreover than life in the flesh. This is the will of God that He loves you first and hopes that you love Him first.
Romans 8:16–17 16The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
So, Jesus’ last will and testament was written on the cross, not as king of the Jews but as savior of all believers. Jesus is our King, our Lord, and our Savior. Jesus wrote this last will and testament with His blood to say we are forgiven, our sins have now been paid for, and our salvation is with Him forever. Jesus signed this will and testament with His resurrection which is signed again with the signature of all who will be resurrected. This is the book of life. Amen.
